Apparently the powers that be (JCAHO) are emphasizing bettter recognition, assessment, and treatment of pain in the new revised 2000-2001 guidelines for ambulatory care and will require compliance in 2001 (available at their website at http://www.jcaho.org). Does anyone currently practicing outpatient peds (NON-oncologic, that is) currently have any novel ideas on how to implement this in an efficient, valid, and "painless" manner?
